Popular TV personality and actress Shefali Jariwala — famously known as the “Kaanta Laga girl” — passed away on the night of June 27, 2025, in Mumbai at the age of 42. Initial reports suggest she suffered a cardiac arrest and was rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Andheri, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Shefali rose to fame after starring in the 2002 remix video Kaanta Laga and later appeared in films like Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and Kannada project Hudugaru. She was also known for her participation in TV reality shows, including Nach Baliye and Bigg Boss 13.

Her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, along with close friends and family, rushed her to the hospital, though it was too late. A post-mortem has been initiated at Cooper Hospital, and Mumbai Police have stated that the cause of death is still under investigation.

The entertainment industry has been deeply affected. Celebrities like Bharti Singh, Himanshi Khurana, Aly Goni, Mika Singh, and others have expressed profound grief, describing her death as “shocking” and “heartbreaking”.

Fans and peers are recalling her infectious energy and her candid openness about her struggles with epilepsy. Shefali is survived by her husband and two supportive families — biological and TV industry alike.
